A True Gem,
This review is from: Bath Salts: A Zombie Novel (Kindle Edition)
An infection is sweeping across the world turning the world's population into flesh hungry zombies.
The media begin blaming the first attacks on a recreational drug named Bathsalts.
A young Mother named Ali has realised the truth and decides to take extreme steps to protect her family.
Along with her Husband David and their infant triplets Ali and her best friends An & Olivia escape to the Arctic Tundra in hope the desolation and extreme weather will protect them until they are once again safe.
This is their story of survival and their struggle to keep their humanity.
Ehen I was offered this book to read and review I must admit I was sceptical. Being new to zombie novels I was worried it would read like movie, made to shock with gore than any actual substance.
I was definitely surprised.
Written as a diary chronicling the attacks the two main characters Ali & An each add their own p.o.v throughout describing the impending nightmare they are about to face.
Every aspect of their preparation is described perfectly, each tiny unique detail bringing the imagination to life.
I raised questions to myself, having never actually believed this could happen I asked myself throughout, what would I do? How would I handle each situation they faced?
New characters brought into this book midway gave a fresh outlook on the story. I felt it was important they were included as it changed the dynamic and stopped the story becoming monotonous.
I am now convinced that if I hadn't have been given the opportunity to read this book I would have missed out on the gem this book truly is.
