I can find absolutely no fault with We Love Katamari. I love everything about it, the mad cutscenes, the cartoony graphics, the weird humour, the crazy sound track, the control scheme, everything. Katamari is great game to play with friends, as a spectator sport or in co-op. But it is also a lot of fun to play on your own.
The game plays by you pushing round a ball collecting up anything that gets in your way. To pick up objects your ball of tat needs to be large enough but with everything you roll up it grows. The game is broken up into challenges, mostly create as big a ball as possible in the time limit or make a ball of certain size as fast as possible but there are lots of variations. There is something very satisfying about starting out rolling up paper clips and building up until things which prevously seemed like scenery are just more things to roll up and the difrence between picking up stationary and causing absolute havok is only a matter of minutes. Towards the final stages of the action reaches apoclyptic scale but there is always the up beat soundtrack, colourful visuals and weird cuteness.
This is simply the most enjoyable game I have played in a long time.
