This review is from: BabyCalm: A Guide for Calmer Babies and Happier Parents (Kindle Edition)
Like many new mums, I read everything going, only to feel uneasy and disturbed by the advice given. I battled on for a while before giving up and finally trusting my own instincts. I ended up feeling guilty for ignoring the current trends and choosing to raise my baby with kindness, and would even avoid any kind of baby groups lest they discover my secret! With the birth of my second child I vowed to follow my instincts from the start, and stayed away from baby books completely, until "BabyCalm..." was recommended by a friend.
I felt very emotional upon reading this book - it validates so many of my thoughts on caring for a baby, and I now know I am not alone in allowing my baby to show me what he needs, rather than forcing him into some unrealistic schedule. He is a happy and calm baby as a result. I wish I had read this when I had my first child, I would have been so much more confident. Nobody knows my baby as I do - I am the expert on my baby!
Thank you Sarah Ockwell-Smith, for being the voice of reason.
