Perfect - particularly if you prefer their latter work,
This review is from: Format (Audio CD)
There are lots of in-depth good reviews, so I'm not going to cover track by track. However, there are a few comments regarding comparison to Alternative and references to PSB not being as good as they were that I'd like to counter.
Reading reviews, there seems to be an opinion that PSB fell flat around the time of Release - whereas for me, that was a career high, along with Fundamental 3 years later. I simply prefer this version of the boys.
So, if you like that period of PSB work best, then Format is definitely worth having.
There are a few duds on here - Party Song and Lies, for me. But the likes of Delusions of Grandeur, I Didn't Get Where I Am Today and Hit and Miss are good enough to be A-sides.
The Yes period is quite interesting in the respect that the more downbeat mood of these tracks does not reflect the upbeat mood of the album - but these are worth listening to a few times and can grow on you.
Personally, it's great to have the tracks all in one and place and good to hear a PBS album that isn't tied to a theme or mood.
Great tracks, great presentation and great value!
