Electronic Oxford dictionary and thesaurus ER6100,
This review is from: Seiko Concise Oxford Dictionary:Thesaurus and Spellchecker with crossword & anagram solver (Office Product)
The electronic dictionary and thesaurus is very much more convenient to use compared to paged book form, and far easier to carry in pocket or handbag. The spellcheck, which allows you to cheat on crosswords by entering the known letters and ? for unknowns gives very rapid selection of possibilities - and a massive selection of new obscure words (highlighting your ignorance) that can readily be defined by single button press (then return to list by single press).
I recently bought this machine (the ER6100) after the off/on button of the earlier ER6000 stopped working. I could only buy the newer version. As with so many advances, the new machine is more elaborate than its predecesor and, because of this, is less quickly accessible to the info you require.
Advantages of the ER6100 over the ER6000:-
1 Will solve anagrams with any old jumble of letters, whereas the earlier model demands real words (that it recognises)
2 Far wider range of information (knowledge view) including English and Scottish Kings and Qs, other history, religion, mythology and on and on
3 Place to put newly learnt words and info
4 Many more elaborations that I haven't got round to appreciating
5 Smaller and neater
Disadvantages compared to ER6000:-
1 Less alternatives in Thesaurus
2 Fewer two or three word solutions to crossword solver
3 Feels like more presses to obtain info
Prefer the earlier model, but can't find where available
