A good fast paced read.,
This review is from: How to Date Dead Guys (The Witch's Handbook Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
When I first heard about this I thought it sounded like a really interesting and unique story. And even though I enjoyed the book and thought it was certainly different. I just didn't love it
How to Date Dead Guys had the potential to be a kick ass Urban Fantasy novel. The plot sounded truly amazing so I was very eager to get started. However, upon reading it just didn't feel like an urban fantasy story. I can't quite put my finger on why exactly it didn't. I think it was mix between the how immature the main character seems at times and the plot that seems more YA with witchcraft.
However, after I read a few chapters and got into the story I did enjoy it. It was very witty and some of the supporting characters that Emma is trying to help were really what made the book! Apart from the main character I actually liked most of them. Some do have some issues but come on who doesn't have issues? lol.
The storyline itself took a while for me to get into as I have mentioned but once I did get into the flow I did enjoy it. It was really fast paced and a little quirky which is a big bonus. With some mystery thrown in to mix it up a little. I love a good mystery. And I was intrigued by trying to figure out all the people Emma was helping and their stories.
If you like a witchcraft story with a bit of mystery then give this a try. I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes the story next.
