Broadly correct but too long and theoretically underdeveloped,
This review is from: Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity and Poverty (Hardcover)
The comments by others are correct. The book is good but flawed by loose writing, some crude history and the theory is underdeveloped. A far better job is done in their earlier book, but for a general readership North, Wallis and Weingast's Violence and Social Orders does the same job in half the space and with a better developed theoretical apparatus.
