A Great Edition,

This is A R Roumanis' translation of the Verne classic, which is probably one of the better ones, especially as it has cleared up the text into more modern English. I am sure everyone is more or less aware of the story, Axel's uncle, Professor Liedenbrock has found a text which needs deciphering. With Axel's help the professor finds out that an Icelandic man claims to have travelled to the centre of the Earth in the 16th Century. The professor is set upon doing the same. This is the tale of what happened, and the adventures that they came upon.
Of course to an adult the whole idea is ludicrous, but even so that doesn't matter as you are drawn in to the tale, of course this doesn't matter at all to children reading this. A great little adventure this edition also includes the illustrations of Edouard Riou, an introduction by Mark Rich and also the piece by Marie A Belloc on Verne, that was published in the Strand magazine in February 1895. All in all this is really good edition to own.
