When you get them, they are waterproof... Awesome. The gloves are waterproof and semi thermal when dry. If you get them wet with really cold water your hands, although dry get colder.... I wouldn't expect anything less. I would like to explain to you for the "not so good reviews on here" as i've bought and learn't what and what not to do with them ....If you use them for anything except walking/hiking, bike riding (not falling off or putting a chain back on ) or holding your partners hand, they will not remain waterproof. The waterproof layer is thin, hence the word "membrane" it isn't indestructible... It can be punctured from excessive dirt, stones, scrapes, cuts (obviously), fishing hooks and climbing on sharp rocks. After damaging the waterproof membrane the waterproofness isn't waterproof so people that don't know any the wiser carry on using them for damaging activities then later, slag them off... They are good gloves.
If you want to do all that stuff and still complain, Man up and get your hands wet!
