This review is from: Breville BL10 chrome Blender (Kitchen & Home)
I had been looking for a blender for some months, juggling price, power, ease of use, ease of cleaning and aesthetics. This particular model caught my eye for having a glass jug and a fantastic retro-spaceage appearance. The spec also seemed up to scratch and so I took the plunge.
The first things I noticed (before ever plugging the unit in) were the feeling of solidity and general build quality, along with the general look of the thing, to which no digitised picture will do full justice. There's a lot to be said for a feel-good factor when unwrapping white goods!
In terms of culinary performance, its main use of the last few sunny days is as a smoothie factory. It happily blends raspberries, strawberries, peaches, yoghurt and anything else I care to throw in to a very smooth consistency, but is surprising easy to get rid of the goo afterwards (I note this has been a complaint in alternative models), encouraging re-use. If I add ice, I can whizz it so fine as to be almost indiscernible apart from the temperature-drop.
The reults are invariably homogenous with the blades angled to circulate the food.
So, it does the job, looks great, feels great and is easy to clean. What more can I say?
