1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of a CD, 19 July 2007
This review is from: Goodbye To The Gallows (Audio CD)
How did Emmure get a record deal? I bought this CD hoping for some good hard metal, but instead, I got a cd full of shouting and screaming and randomly rubbish guitar riffs. I think it is a complete waste of money and it makes me wonder who would actually let them have a record deal. I do not mind a bit of shouting and screaming in songs, but Emmure just shout all the time. Bands like this are no match to bands like Hatebreed or Hellyeah.

Jamie Cottam says:
You know why? That's the style of music they play. Emmure is one of about a thousand modern metal bands that play metal/deathcore.

O.o I strongly disagree. Rusted over wet dreams is fanastic... and if you think that is "randomly rubbish guitar riffs" then your barmy
if you buy an extreme metal CD you can't really complain about "shouting and screaming" and he never shouts once... he speaks and does a tiny amount of singing,

I agree with JR. Emmure are fantastic at what they do. If your looking for song structure and singy boll**ks then stick with "Hellyeah". If on the other hand your looking for meaty riffs and breakdowns that make you wet your pants then Emmure is the band for you. I love his vocals as well, most other deathcore bands dont have vocals that are this catchy.

Guys! This just aint music. It's noise. Rev a motorbike and it'll sound the same.

Please dont compare this CD to a motorbike engine noise. Hardly a constructive comment for the discussion. This album is by far the bands best, as they now seemed to have turned nu-metal. And as the people criticizing it also rate 'Limp Bizkit's CDs with 5 stars, then you can see why. With such awful taste in music & no extreme metal credentials to speak of, they wouldnt know good metal from the mass market, kerrang peddled rubbish they seem to listen to. Now go do some homework.
