How this water bottle and holster made it though product testing I'll never know!
I've run with this twice, once on a 11 K run, once on a 14 K run and I won't bother using it again. On the first run I wore it in the lumbar position as shown in their product photos, but in this position the bottle movement/compression was enough to slosh the water through the 'always open always closed' Jet Valve, loosing half the contents of the bottle in the first 6 K. The sloshing of the water combined with the angle of the holster also meant that the holder had a tendency to cause the belt to start sliding to the left, meaning I to keep on pushing it back to the right. After 6 K I gave up and wore it as a side holster instead.
On the second run I wore it in the side holster configuration for the whole run, but this time with the water bottle cap set in 'lockout' mode, this stopped the water leakage problems. However on both runs the belt strap kept on working itself loose, I had to re-tighten the belt so many times that I lost count of the exact number, but I can tell you that it was over 25 times on both occasions! It is possible that if you have a toned abdomen, then the belt strap loosening issue may not affect you, but if you have the slightest of a belly then be warned.
One other thing to note is that even when the bottle cap is in lockout mode it will still leak drips of water if it is shaken enough or pressure is put on the bottle, which is something to consider if you plan to carry the bottle in your kit bag.
Had I bought the bottle on Amazon then it would already be on its way back for a refund, but alas I bought it in a store (far enough away that it is not worth retuning it due to the petrol cost).
