Top marks for Sony,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sony NWZE453R E Series 4GB Walkman MP3/Video with Clear Audio - Red (Electronics)
Excellent! Yes, I am very pleased with my new 4gb Sony Walkman. I am not a big fan of modern technology but I found this device a success even for me. Once you get used to the controls its actually not to difficult to navigate your way around the operating system. Indeed the more I use it the more impressed I am at how logical it works. Prior to purhase I was anxious about transferring files from the computer to the device, but it immediately `sync-ed' and the whole process was not that onerous. It even copies over the album covers, also the screen size is just about right for viewing, even for a 46 year old with glasses! My son has a very similar apple device, (I think it's the nano version) and its surprising how similar in size and layout the two machines are. The big difference is of course price. The Sony is about half the cost of the apple! However as far as I can tell there is no difference in quality. There have been questions over its volume, and yes it can seem a bit low or underpowered, but I would suggest that Sony have carefully regulated the volume so that its not over powerefuI to cause damage to one's hearing. I mostly play it through a Belkin FM transmitter anyway and after a minor glitch it plays straight through to the FM on the car radio. I would recommend this Sony to anyone looking for a solid, reliable alternative to the `all-conquering' apple nano. If I had to do it again I would probably get the 8gb version rather than the 4gb.

hello, I'm considering buying one of these and I'd like to ask if you have tried downloading anything from the BBC i-player onto it to watch? If so was it easy and was it clear to watch back, thank you.

It is a wonderful feedback and I quite agree, it is half the price of Apple and a damn sight easier to download than Itunes, as the latter is geared toward Apple. I find it hard for the PC to recognise an Apple device as iTunes keep popping up and for us folks with basic technical know- how it is easier to sync songs with other devices. I find it especially easy with Windows Media Player and to get absolutely thousands of free download music/ songs , it has to be " Bear Share."

I have this mp3 and it is great. I was never one for having an mp3 and only just considered buying one just over a year ago. Now, I wouldn't be without it. Very easy to use and would highly recommend for a first time buyer. I agree with other reviewers, that it is much cheaper than the Apple. Why pay more anyway when you get an mp3 at half the price and it does just as good a job?

I am thinking of buying an MP3 Player. I really would be more interested in the Radio. What's it like? Is it easy to get going?
