Very Poor Wireless Printer,
This review is from: Canon PIXMA MG3550 All in one printer - Black (Print, Scan, Copy, Wifi and Air Print) (Accessory)
Purchased as we have so many different devices (Windows and Apple) so needed something to print with wireless connectivity
I downloaded the Pixma app on to Apple devices and followed instructions to connect. Neither of the 2 iPads or iPod could connect using the app and following instructions precisely. No matter what we did the devices could not find the printer and so we went around and around getting more frustrated.....
I then used the CD to load to Windows 7 machine and at the last step of about a 10 minute load it looks for the printer and guess what - no printer found....after several hours I ran a USB cable A male to B male from printer to workstation and it worked fine.
It kind of defeats the object of buying a wireless printer though when it will only work with a cable to a fixed position and not at all to any of our Apples devices
it also has quite a flimsy front opening and paper trays and print cartridges are expensive. I removed a perfectly good robust Dell printer to install this purely to get wireless!! what a waste of money it was, but I guess in the end you get what you pay for and I am very disappointed in this printer.....

Just turn your apple/i-devices completely off then on again and they should find the printer. Had the same prob but with my laptop, tried over and over to install the printer but got as you did the same message.. No printer found. Tried turning the internet off/on and the printer off/on but they were actually both online anyway according to my laptop, although there was an exclamation mark against the printer connection status icon so clearly something was wrong (the printer internet warning light kept coming on as well so I kept resetting as per instructions ie pressing internet button on printer and hold for 2 amber flashes). Eventually after retrying, reinstalling etc over and over I got yet again as far as the box saying printer not found so just left it there and restarted my laptop... Hey presto, connected all by itself when it came back on without me doing anything!!

Thanks for your tip! Did the same and it worked after wasting half the day trying to set this up!

You're welcome... Sometimes I wonder if wireless is worth it !!

I had the same problem. My iPad would only fitfully find my printer. I then installed the Printer Pro app and it now finds it every time. The app costs £4.99 but you can first install a trial app free just to assure yourself that it works on your set-up
