Wolverine vs Everyone,
This review is from: Enemy of the State: Wolverine No. 20-32 (Paperback)
Wolverine: Enemy of the state is everything I want a wolverine story to be. It is action packed with a surprising amount of depth.
Wolverine has been taken over by HYDRA. And he has been given the difficult job of attacking some of Marvels main superheroes, including the Fantastic Four, Daredevil and the X-Men. The sort of job only wolverine could do. The story is well delivered and has the right ratio of story line and action. The artwork, whilst nothing fancy, matches the tone of the book well. The introduction of new mutant super villain Gorgon is handled well, and makes him a very interesting character. This is one of Mark Millar's finest works.
However, the 12 issue story of Wolverine being taken over by Hydra is pushed out of the spotlight by the single issue at the back. Wolverine is in a Nazi concentration camp. The commandant tries to have him executed. It goes exactly how you think it would go.
