This is indeed a beautiful album with a very unusual sound, but Jons' vocals are a little subdued by the instruments. The sound of this CD is just about acceptable on my system ,which is a good system but I have also played it on very high quality equipment and there is no appreciable difference so it seems that there just isn't enough quality information available on this disc which would have benefitted from a decent remastering. Luckily I have the original vinyl which definately sounds superior, and the lavish cover artwork is fantastic. Obviously you lose out on that kind of thing with CD covers, but they could have made more effort with the booklet for this one. Only half of the tracks and lyrics appear on a single sheet so you have to make note of the first five track titles before you place the disc in your player.A really poor effort from Atlantic Records.
