This review is from: Panasonic Lumix FZ45 14.1MP Digital Camera - Black (3.0 inch TFT LCD Display, LEICA DC Lens with 25mm Wide-angle and 24x Optical Zoom) (Electronics)I bought this camera as an upgrade to my 10 MP Lumix FZ28. I was keen to have the improved functionality of the rear thumb wheel and the button to switch between shooting and playback modes. I had read about the issue with noise but thought how bad can it be? On my FZ28 I already limit the ISO to 400 in order to keep noise levels manageable with Lightroom software. However with the FZ45 it was necessary to limit it to 200. At 400 ISO noise speckles were clearly evident - and on Auto ISO setting the camera seems to elect to use higher ISO's more frequently than the FZ28 in like for like shots. (This is subjective and may I suppose be due to the slightly different focal lengths.) Auto White Balance was a little weird in interior lighting, turning cream into bright yellow and brown into bright orange - but easily corrected in post processing. Raw shots were noticeably slower to process than in the FZ28, and there was a delay after pressing the mode switch which wiped out any advantage it might have in ease of use. So I've decided to stick with the truly marvellous FZ28. I will miss the extra width, (25 rather than 27mm) but not the extra telephoto - which I find hard to hold still enough to get focussed shots.
