A fantastic book on how companies use people, not profits,
This review is from: Hidden Value: How Great Companies Achieve Extraordinary Results With Ordinary People (Harvard Business School Press) (Hardcover)Pfeffer & O'Reilly concentrate on the people approach to management, the entire book is a must read for everyone, whether they are managers or not. It gives numerous exmaples and case studies on how the people of the organisation are concentrated on rather than anything else, how their feelings and well-being are the top priority, and how much this benefits the company. If all companies were run like this the world would be a much nicer place, and more economically efficient. After reading you are taken back in amazement and feel 90% of the organisations out there are totally clueless to the concept of people management, especially the place where you're working at the moment. However much I praise this book I will not be able to emphasise the point that this book is fantastic, a must-read for everyone, please buy this book! For your own sake, if nobody else.
