As a lifelong fan of Lego, I'd always hoped to get my soon-to-be-seven-year-old-son into the product and after a few false starts with the plastic building bricks I think that I've finally cracked it. I would say that although this set is marked as being suitable for 4-7-year-olds that some of the parts are very small indeed and younger children would struggle to complete the construction tasks, let alone follow the instruction books. That said, I spent a couple of very happy hours indeed making up all of the playsets and my son was a great help in regard to finding the correct brick for each stage. As a parent, I was very pleased to see that it could all be stored in the plastic box, which is much better than the cardboard cartons which always end up getting bent, squashed or thrown away. I think one of the many plus points of Lego is that you can add additional sets to one another and build up quite a collection.
In conclusion: an absolutely brilliant set which would be suitable for children moving on from the chunkier Duplo range. It would also make an excellent present for a youngster.
