Good but more care needed.,
This review is from: When Football Was Football: West Ham: A Nostalgic Look at a Century of the Club (Hardcover)
The book is well put together and I was most impressed by the inclusion of so many previously unpublished photos. My main criticism is with the captions accompanying the photos. There are various errors, the most notable being on pages 128/9.
The caption reads ,"Clyde Best with Johnny Ayris in a November 1971 home league game against Sheffield United".The player with Clyde Best is in fact Ade Coker, and they are wearing the famous away strip of the time.
As a supporter and keen student of the club I enjoyed the book and would recommend the book on the strength of the photography alone, but was dissappointed with the innacuracies.

I. Dale says:
Gary, Really sorry about the Clive Best error. We only repeated what was on the caption supplied by the picture library, but you are right, it should have been picked up. We'll correct it if the book goes to reprint. Please email me any other errors you have spotted. email@example.com
