This review is from: PDC World Championship Darts: ProTour (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
The latest installment of the PDC Darts game for the Xbox 360 really is superb.

I played the last game, which was released back in 2008, religiously and was looking forward to the release of the latest edition. It certainly doesn't fail to match the standards set by its predecessor. In fact, it completely obliterates it in every sense.

The gameplay is much better and more realistic, with 2 viewing angles available. The commentary is great aswell, instead of just having Sid Waddell, we've been given John Gwynne as well, which simply makes the whole experience more enjoyable. On top of this the PDC master of ceremonies also introduces the players, as well as the addition of both PDC score callers, Bruce Spendley and Russ Bray.

The graphics are massively improved from the last edition also. The crowd look like real people and jump about with their pints of beer as your third dart nestles into the 60 stripe.

However, its the little things that really make this game shine. The player customisation element is stratospherically improved. Instead of just a few faces and bodies to choose from, players have the opportunity to pick a variety of bodies, faces, hairstyles, clothing, darts and glasses, with more to unlock as the game progresses.
Also, the players outside of the top 16, i.e the featured players, also look like the real player, instead of the last game where they were simply allocated random faces and bodies.

Altogether, this is a tremendous effort from O Games International and a vastly improved attempt on the impressive 2008 edition.

I simply couldn't recommend this game highly enough. Its superb.

Ashbourne, i was thinking about getting this as i love me darts, is it really that good, coz i have often wondered how good a dart game can really be! nice review by the way.

Yeah, its a great game. If you love darts, you will definitely enjoy it. Once you have got the hang of the controls, which are pretty simple in all honesty, you'll be away. Its pretty cheap compared to most 360 games too.

Hope this helps.

As far as I know Craig, Las Vegas is one of the tournaments in the DLC pack for PS3, so not sure if you can "unlock" it.

I have found it to be a great game! the only problem im having is for some reason is accessing the xbox live party bit, it isnt lit up on the xbox live menu and it wont allow you not to click on it, i have a full xbox live subscription which works fine for all other games, for online tournaments etc, also when i press y for downloadable content their is never any. Im wondering whether its a fault on my copy of the game or if other players are experiencing the same. Would appreciate any feedback on this.
thanks

I think the "Press Y for Downloadable Content" is more a place holder. It takes you through to the page that would show DLC, there just isn't any at the moment. Couldn't tell you about the Party bit though.
