Practically useless - stick with the regular guide,

This review is from: Lonely Planet California's Best Trips (Travel Guide) (Paperback)
Whenever I travel (usually backpacking), I always buy the LP guide.
Over the years, they proved to be very helpful - history, culture, cuisine of the country, transports, places to stay and eat, best itineraries.
For my trip in California, I had a car and I thought of buying this guide instead of the regular one.
It was not a good decision... the guide was completely useless.
It didn't give more than a handful of suggestions of places to stay or eat.
Even the info on the trips was not detailed at all.
I ended up not using it more than a couple of times.
Had I known what I know now, I would have bought the regular LP.
