Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)This novel is set in the small town of Walls of Water in North Carolina. This is a tourist town in the Southern States of America, famous for its waterfalls and its fog. The story concerns 2 families - the Jacksons and the Osgoods. Both families are connected by a house called the Blue Ridge Madam, formerly owned by the Jackson family and now by the Osgoods. The house has been empty for many years and has become very run down. It is now being restored by Paxton Osgood and during the process a skeleton is found. Thus a secret involving both families is brought to light - a secret which dates back 3 generations.
This is an enjoyable read. The location is atmospheric and the characters believable and likeable. The story is quirky with just a hint of the supernatural. This makes the novel interesting and quite unlike anything else I have ever read. It is a bit like a fairy story for adults. But please don't be put off by this if you dont like fantasies. The supernatural element is slight and is handled with a very light touch.
I enjoyed reading this novel and I am happy to recommend it for others to read.
