Buyers beware

Ad says (in bold) - "No refurbished replacements.The last thing you want when your item breaks down is a cheap refurbished item that is two generations old. If your item breaks and can't be fixed, you will be reimbursed your full item replacement cost. Reimbursement may be in the form of a cash settlement or a gift card from the merchant from which you bought the insured item."

---Extract from key terms, (its the terms that you are signing up to, forget the ad!)

"Depending on the item and failure circumstances, at our sole discretion, we will either:
 Repair your insured item, or  Provide a cash settlement or a gift card reflecting the replacement cost of a new item of equal features and functionality up to the price paid for the insured item, or  Provide a new, rebuilt, or refurbished product of the same or newer model "

Sorry for any confusion. In some cases, we do make a refurbished replacement an option. However, we won't force you to take a refurbished replacement if you don't want one - we will give you other options as well.

We now realise that the language is not quite clear, and so thank you very much for pointing that out. We'll fix the language as soon as we can. Please do let us know if you have any other comments.

What is the situation here? The T+Cs are clearly different from the advert. Have you updated the T+Cs yet to state that refurbished items will not be used as a replacement? If this isn't fixed I will shop elsewhere for a warranty.

We are still working on the language. However in the event of a claim, if you state under no circumstances you want a refurbished product, we will replace via cash settlement or Amazon Gift Card.

The advert has now been updated and does not state no refurbishments. However when a unit is beyond economic repair, we will pay out cash or an Amazon Gift Card.
