The New Religion,
This review is from: Rolling Stones - The Ronnie Wood Years Under Review 1975 - 1983 [DVD] [NTSC] (DVD)
Often seen as a poor relation to the pre-Ronnie, Mick Taylor era, I have always disagreed this opinion. While there is no denying that Mick was a more technically able player than Ronnie, but like they used to say about Ringo Starr, he may not have been the beard drummer in the world but he was one of the 4 best Beatles in the world! The same can be said of Ronnie Wood in the Stones. Wood is a brilliant player whose sound and style fits in with Keith's playing like a hand in glove. This film dissects the years that Mr Wood entered the Stones and runs through to the early 1980s, ie the period in which the Stones really released their last great recordings. The film is both enthralling and informative with both the footage and the interviews superb and an excellent narrative which makes for one superb documentary.
