Works well for running when paired with Strava,
This review is from: Wahoo Fitness TICKR Heart Rate Monitor for iPhone and Android - Blue (Sports)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I've tried a couple of heart rate monitors over the past few years, and have had slightly mixed results (one was great, but died after about a year, and the other was a bit intermittent with cycling but fine for running). The Wahoo HRM is the one that's recommended for use with Strava, which is my preferred run-recording app on my iPhone 5. I do have to say that this is a remarkably easy monitor to use. It paired with Strava on my phone within about 5 seconds, and works consistently well throughout my runs. A couple of other things I like about the Wahoo HRM too - it's got plenty room on the strap (I'm a 44" chest, and have a good few inches to spare on the elastic strap), and it's also an unusually broad strap at around 28-30mm wide. This means it's more comfortable, more discreet (there's less obvious 'cinching' under your top so it doesn't look like you're wearing a bra!), and I suspect this also contributes to its consistently-good recording too, as it'll stay in place better. The poppers make for easy on-and-off (no faffing about with complicated clips) too.
All in all, although there are cheaper HRMs out there, I can say from experience that at least one of them is not particularly reliable, and I'd certainly recommend paying a few quid extra for this to know that you'll have a comfortable and reliable HRM that is also built to last.
