A Regular Read Over A Cuppa,
This review is from: Big Fish from Famous Waters (Hardcover)
This is a great book. Chris has compiled a series of chapters, each written by a well known angler, covering varying aspects of coarse fishing. Carp, tench, pike, barbel etc and it includes a plentiful amount of Chris's own superb illustrations. Its a great book to read over a cuppa because it breaks down into 17 very individual, independent chapters, so you can easily pick it up, read just one chapter and then put it back down for a few days or weeks. Some of the chapters are written by Chris himself, others are written by leading anglers such as Chris Yates, Andy Little, Phil Smith, Chris Ball, Neville Fickling and many more. They are all well written and make a really good read. If I am gonna have a 15 minute soak in a hot bath I will quite often take this with me and read a chapter. Whilst it isn't a classic fishing books, it is one of my most well thumbed and I think it would hold a welcome place in any coarse anglers library. It should at the very least be propped on the window ledge of any discerning anglers loo .... each chapter lasts about as long as it takes to do your business ....nuff said.
