Limited Edition Boxset,
This review is from: Harry Potter: The Complete 1-8 Film Collection - Limited Numbered Edition (Blu-ray + DVD) [Region Free] (Blu-ray)I just got this in the mail today (in case you're wondering, I got number 10,746). We all know how good the movies are, and if you're looking to buy this, you obviously like them a fair amount, so I won't bore anyone with a review of the movies. Despite there being 13 reviews here already about the movies or comparisons to what the US gets, I thought it was worth reviewing the actual boxset.
The box itself is very nice. It's hard and sturdy, certainly not a cheap job. You'd have to put quite some effort in to break it. You open it up and you get two fold-outs of discs and a nice little photo book. The book is quite nice. It's full colour, hardback and very nicely presented inside. Certainly nice for collectors. The first fold-out is labelled 'Years 1-5' and has a Blu-Ray disc and DVD disc for Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. The second fold-out is labelled 'Years 6-7 part 1 and 2' and contains a Blu-Ray disc of each of the three movies, a DVD disc of each of the three movies, and a Blu-Ray disc for each of their Special Features.
However, despite my 5-star rating, it's not perfect. As you're probably thinking, there's no Special Feature discs for the first five movies, only the last three. The only other bad point is there's no kind of latch to keep the box closed. The lid just flops open when you place the box on it's side on your shelf. Prop it up against other DVDs/Blu-Rays/Books and you should be okay, but a bit annoying nonetheless.
Outside of those two bad points, it's a solid box worth every penny.

that is disapointing, I sold my dvd versions of the first few films as I thorght the blue ray release of those films would have the extras, I was even told on bluray.com that the harry potter box set has all the extras intact, I am not very happy at all now as my 2 disc versions of the first few films were quite rare :( ah well, but anyways did you use the free delivery or express delivery? I am still waiting for my box set to arrive.

You live in the UK and you got this boxset in the mail on the 30th Nov? I thought Deathly Hallows Part 2 and full boxsets like this one came out on 2nd Dec?
I'm only asking because I've pre-ordered this boxset and my order says I should receive it by today so if yours came yesterday then mine should come today.
Also, is the box itself like previous sets where it can get bent easily like cardboard or hard?

I got it as a Birthday Present, but apparently it was ordered with Free Delivery.

I don't really know how to check if I'm honest, but the Blu-Rays are the same as the individual ones. A quick Google search showed me that the individual ones are DTS-HD Master, so you should be in luck.

Yes, both products are supposed to come out in the 2nd of December. I've found that Amazon sends them out early to make sure they arrive on time, and out of luck they sometimes arrive a day or two early.
The outer box is hard, but the lid is a separate piece that's glued to the back of the box, and has no latch. This sometimes give the illusion that the box is being bent when you grab it off the shelf (which I just found out), but otherwise has no effect that I've noticed so far.

The first 5 films have the extras on the single disc with the film. The others have the extras on a second disc.
