A real comedian,
This review is from: Bill Hicks: Totally Bill Hicks - It's Just A Ride/Revelations [DVD] (DVD)
Bill Hicks seems, still, to be unheard of. His material is dark and hilariously funny. Bill was years ahead on hating manufactured pop, years ahead on hating war and years ahead on loving drugs. Prepare to ask why we live in a world such as this.
Anyway, this DVD contains a fair amount of new material. If you own all his albums then you will still get a fair few laughs (The US selling iraq farming equipment such as 'flame throwing rakes') and you get to 'see' him do his stuff. He even trys to relate to us 'Brits' with his jokes(the miracle of child birth is spreading to every councilflat around the country).
The documentary is a bit dissapointing, you constantly wait for the good stuff while watching the time fly by. It is mostly people saying how good he was, how he's missed but since he's dead then they can suck up wholeheartedly. Nothing too great.
Anyway, the material is what counts. You cant miss out on such topics as advertising(if you work in advertising, kill yourself. no joke, kill yourself.). Indeed Bill says he is waiting for Jesus to advertise for Miller(I'm Jesus, dead for 2000 years, resurrected. It's Miller time). Add such topics as the JFK asassination and the LA riots and you've got one missed man. I even urge you to 'borrow' some of his material on mp3 and laugh yourself silly, then buy this dvd.
