A great holiday read,
This review is from: Dark Angel (Paperback)
This is the first Sally Beauman novel that I've read but I'm now keen to read her others. Dark Angel is a gripping, clever, intriguing story of family feuds, love, death and betrayal set in an English country house. The action starts in 1910 with a murder... or was it a murder?
The story is then taken up by Victoria, a family member living in the 1960s, and her quest to find out more about her ancestors.
I was glad that I bought it as a holiday read because I found it so absorbing and, had I been at home, would have been reluctant to do any work etc
I reminded me of a Daphne Du Maurier novel. I highly recommend it.

I'm surprised this book is still in print, I read it years ago when I was in college in the late 90s, borrowed from a public library. I remembered feeling a bit sad when it ended, and sad to see the passing of life from one generation to the next. That was quite a journey!
