This review is from: Clarity (Audio CD)
Jimmy Eat World are awesome, with Bleed American being the first best of their albums I have heard, and Futures being amazing and coming in close second. I like these albums so much that i thought the others must be as good - WRONG. This album is ok, but it's not fantastic like the previously mentioned ones. I've read the other reviews of this album and they all seem to be positive, but I think this album just doesnt cut it and I've so glad the Jimmy Eat World evolved their sound and made better albums.

I guess you were looking for something different - there's a reason this is the only review that doesn't give 5 stars. If you liked the newer albums there is a good chance you'll like Clarity, but it is very different. If you go back to Clarity expecting is to be Bleed American part 1 you will be disappointed. However, if you consider it standing alone, from start to finish it is just amazing - like it's by a deeper, somehow more special incarnation of Jimmy Eat World.
It was brought here from somewhere where the sky is a bit bluer and stars shine a little brighter...

This chap doesn't know what they are talking about. This may be the greatest album that there has ever been.

Bleed American and Futures are albums of pop songs, simple as. Clarity is a masterpiece that defined a soundscape for an entire generation of bands...

I'd agree with Bleed American being more pop - but Futures is very much in the vein of Clarity I'd argue. Very moving and deep.
