Very pleased after years of electric cable avoidance!,
This review is from: Bosch AHS 48 cm Lithium Ion Cordless Hedgecutter (DIY & Tools)
Saw these for the first time in a garden centre. We've had a Bosch Lithium battery strimmer for two seasons and very pleased with that so did a bit of internet shopping and got the Bosch LI hedgecutter. Used it for the first time last Sunday. Was absolutely over the moon. One of the worst things we have to cut is a row of very long grasses on our frontage which need to be 'shorn' annually after seeding. Previously I regularly managed to cut through the electric cable. I did wonder whether the Bosch would cope with the grasses but it did and it was a joy to use it. The hedgecutter was light and much easier to angle than the cabled ones. Following cutting the grasses it cut holly, hawthorn, conifers, hazel, brambles, ivy, pyracantha and a bit of unidentifiable miscellaneous hedge belonging to a neighbour. The battery and motor happily chuntered through the lot and it didn't jam once. I was pleased that we would have a second charged battery from the strimmer but I didn't need it. Quite often when I needed to trim just a bit of a plant or shape a bush, rather than the hassle of getting the electric hedgecutter out I used shears. Now that the hedgecutter is so accessible and easy, I will be using it all round the garden. If it continues to perform as it did I will be a very happy (and probably safer) person indeed.
