Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Canon EOS 650D Digital SLR Camera - Black (Inc. 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens Kit) (Camera)
As usual Cannon have made an excellent camera. However I have wondered if I have been provided with a grey import. All the details were in Estonian and the box had been opened and warranty documents and the instruction book removed. (presumably because they were in a foreign tongue) the upshot is I have no way of registering the camera for future upgrades or warranty claims should there be any

Send it back if you are unsure if it's a grey import, don't take any crap mate.

If at all possible I would return this camera asap, it could work out very expensive if something goes wrong when you've no UK warranty!
Can I ask if you purchased through Amazon? I am in the process of buying my first DSLR, I'm being really careful before taking the plunge, although must say I thought I'd be safe going through Amazon. I had a bad online buying experience a year ago with a Hong Kong company, like so many others I was conned into believing they were UK company but turned out not to be the case! They sent me a grey market camera and took about 2 months, innumerable emails and a lot of worry before finally getting my money back!! Having just read your review I'm thinking I'd be better to pay extra and buy over the counter! Really hope everything turns out ok for you!!

You should be fine buying it from Amazon NOT there 3rd party vendors but I would if I was you phone Cannon UK up once you get the camera and ask them to confirm that it is a UK model, if it is not send it back to Amazon.
Alternatively you cna buy it from a very reputable shop John Lewis and it's not much more than here on Amazon, £589
Good luck mate.

Great advice John, many thanks!
After 2 months of reviewing and swaying between canon and nikon I've just ordered the Nikon d5100 from Amazon... in the end price dictated!! They're selling it at £399.99 also £40 cashback from nikon (providing its purchased from amazon.co.uk and not one of their 3rd party sellers) and as you say it will be easy enough to check that its a UK model when it arrives.
Again....many thanks for the help!
