A very useful hands-on guide to the multi-channel challenge,

This review is from: The M-bomb: Riding the Multi-channel Whirlwind (Paperback)At last, a management book written by someone who has been there and done that and offers a practical perspective to the multi-channel challenge. Geoff Webb has clearly earned his spurs in business the hard way and his perspective is a refreshing change to the heavy academic tomes that pass for management advice nowadays.
Do not be put off by the fact that the book is written in the first person, by and large it personalises the read and underlines the passion that is clearly felt for how businesses can thrive in this complex world through a mixture of good old fashioned common sense and some very hands on practical ideas about how to equip yourself to compete in the world of bricks and clicks.
This book addresses how to handle organisational alignment in managing a multi-channel approach. So many companies focus on the 'hard' IT infrastructure implementation without considering all the other processes in the business. This book offers some excellent insights and anecdotes about implementation and this is the real success of the book. Most other books of this nature offer theoretical advice of how to make a success of a multi-channel business. This book is for those of us in the trenches who need to turn theory into profit, it is a worthwhile roadmap with all the bends and twists well signposted rather than a theoretical work which provides only obscure clues to the route ahead.
