1.0 out of 5 stars MANCHESTER'S ONLY EXPORT WERE FOUNDED BY A SCOUSER LOL, 2 April 2010
This review is from: The Official Manchester United Almanac (Hardcover)
Man United were founded by a scouser lol.
The parish was the birthplace of the Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Football Club which was established in 1878 and later become the world famous Manchester United. It began life as a football team formed by Frederick Attock, a Liverpudlian who was a superintendent engineer of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway(L&YR). The team played on a pitch at North Road, and were initially outfitted in green and gold jerseys. By 1892, they had been admitted to the Football League. The club remained in the area until 1893, when it moved to new premises at Bank Street in nearby Clayton. The name was changed to Manchester United Football Club in 1902.

Jay fozzas review stinks of Liverpool fan who can't distinguish between a good book and a man utd book,I've been lucky enough to read many good books about other clubs,Liverpool included, and most by this author.maybe the mature stance would be to judge the book on its merits and not who it's about.an interesting fact(on a not so mature note) is that the great Liverpool club was indeed formed by a former everton president and a few players who refused to pay the anfield landlord an increase in rent on anfield were everton played there home games between 1884 and 1892.relax sit back and enjoy the Manchester united almanac,it's well wriiten and very informative

As a sports fan in general i find Jay Fozza's comments some what smacking in jealousy. I think he needs to be reminded of some facts and yes we all know that Manchester United or Newton Heath as was, had a liverpudlian president but that was probably because he couldnt bring himself to preside over a team which were and are not really that bright.
1 Liverpool were only formed in 1892 after Everton refused to pay their landlord of Anfield (Yes Everton played their home games at Anfield from 1884 to 1892) an increase in their rent of the ground.
2 Liverpool FC were formed in 1892 by a breakaway group consisting of Everton's former president and a few players.
In conclusion Mr Jay Fozza i think you should stick to selecting smart shell suits and not trying to review books that intellectually challenger you.

This a very well wrote and highly informative book on one the most famous clubs in the world. this book has been thoroughly researched by John White and is a great addition to the authors many other sports books. Maybe Jay "fozza" should write a book on his/hers beloved club and if they do they should read John white's book on Liverpool (The Liverpool Football Miscellany )as to avoid any plagiarism and please avoid phrases such as LOL, you just look uneducated and childish.
