Not for beginners,
This review is from: ShaderX3: Advanced Rendering with DirectX and OpenGL (Charles River Media Graphics) (Hardcover)
I had high expectations when I got this book. ShaderX3: Advanced Rendering with DirectX and OpenGL (Charles River Media Graphics)
Explanations given on each topic are overviews, which are easy to understand, but the 'devil is in the detail' - so to really undertand the topics you need to study the messy code which is not written with this in mind.
A major problem I have is that none of the examples will build using latest DirectX SDK (Feb 2010) and VS C++ 9.0. Installed the older suppled DirectX SDK on CD but still the failed to get any of the book examples to build sucessfully.
Maybe your experience will be better but as far as Im concerned it's wasted money.
