Not my usual read,
This review is from: Maya (Paperback)
Don't let the fact that Piers Morgan called this book "superb"put you off. After reading the author's previous novel I decided to read this one despite it being quite far removed from what I would normally choose.
The plot centres around Steve and his friend from childhood Maya, who is now a celebrity adored by press and public. It's a well written novel the characters are realistically described and in light of recent developments with celebrity phone hacking, the story is definitely relevant as it tackles the pursuit of celebrities for stories and facts about their lives. There are several superb twists and turns as Steve gets himself deeper and deeper into a less than ideal situation.
It's an entertaining read, but I think the artwork on the cover is somewhat misleading, certainly a reminder not to judge a book by it's cover. It didn't convey any of the suspense within the story or draw me to buy the book.
