Quality optics at a reasonable price,
This review is from: Olympus Binocular 10x50 DPS-1 (Electronics)
The optics are bright and clear which I expected from Olympus.
The body is surprisingly robust - OK its not heavy duty, or waterproof but I was looking at twice the price for these features. I plan to use them for Astronomy, so they'll mostly be used at home - toughness and waterproof casing is really not required.
In summary - good quality optics without the frills at a very reasonable price. Recommended.

I'm looking for binoculars to watch birds (on a bird table) about twenty yards away from my back door. Would these be suitable in your opinion?

I'd recommend the Olympus DPS-1 range without hesitation.
I'd also recommend that you consider how much of the bird-table and the surrounding area you'll want to be able to observe without having to move the binoculars. These binoculars have a magnification of 10x - this means that the birds on your table 20 yards away will appear as if they were just 2 yards away. Olympus also do a lower magnification DPS model 8x which means the birds are slightly smaller but the field of view is slightly wider at 2.5 yards.
The DPS 8x binoculars are much smaller so if you don't need the extra magnification (as I did for stargazing), get the smaller model as they'll be easier to hold still.

Thanks for the info. The 10 x binoculars are fantastic and I realise it was an narrow field of vision I needed because I can see the birds at closer range.
