Will we end up like this?,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Funscreen (Kindle Edition)
I think we could.
Falconer has created a world where devices by the name of 'Funscreen' are used as a means of income for some people, giving them 'credits' when they view ads, which can then be used to make purchases (eg for food etc). The changes came about when those in power decided that unemployed people should earn money via viewing ads, instead of living off the welfare state, and the 'Funscreen' was created. The device is smart. And dangerous.
The story follows that of a man called Roger. He spends most of his day on the 'Funscreen', watching ads to obtain credits. But tonight there is a competition - where the winner wins a huge amount of credits. Can Roger gain the credits for entry in the short space of time he has? Or go one better and win the thing? Read and find out
The concept of the book was interesting indeed. I can actually imagine something like this being created in the real world. Because we do have high levels of unemployment, and advertisers would jump at the opportunity.
Perhaps the author should write up a letter and send it to the Pm?!
Deserves the full 5 stars.
