It is...rubbish :-(,
This review is from: It Is What It Is: The Autobiography (Paperback)
Having been a fan of motor racing in general most of my life, and particularly interested in the careers of Scottish & UK drivers/riders, I was looking forward to finally reading DC's bio. And really, I wish I hadn't now. Dull and boring, written with the skill and flair of a dictionary compiler. Without the clever bits. Even the pictures are uninspiring; I'm sure the LAT archives could do better than that.
If you want a good motorporsts bio read Perry McCarthy or Vic Elford.
Edit: That the book is rubbish (IMO) doesn't stop me from liking DC as a driver, a commentator, or a person.

I agree entirely, including the last line. Have read the Perry McCarthy book, perhaps I should try Vic Elford.
