Great Albums Shame About The Packaging,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Original Album Series (Audio CD)
After having bought the Groundhogs Original Album Series "Box" set which I was well pleased with I thought I would buy this one as well. Unlike the Groundhogs item, and although it is described as a box set, it doesn't have a box. The albums are supplied in very low quality slip cases and shoved into another larger slip case which is rather flimsy to say the least. The Groundhogs set was in a proper box and all the sleeve reproductions were excellent, but having said that it's more than likely been superseded by this cheaper version. What's advertised here isn't what you are going to get. Very Disappointing.

I did preface the review with the title "Great Albums" Shame About The Packaging. The music is as you'd expect from somebody like Robin Trower which is nothing less than brilliant but the packaging is awful. CD packaging has always been notoriously bad but this brings it down to an all new low. I would much rather have better packaging and pay a few extra quid for CD's than this example.

You seem more concerned about the slip cases than the music on offer here and the star rating system relates to the music and not the box it comes in .
Lf you are that concerned about the box it came in you have returned the item and got a full refund
Instead you have given a great band and some great music 2 stars

These albums are not new and have been extensively reviewed elsewhere and as T Williams said in the title they are 'Great Albums'. If you are only interested in the music then buy digital downloads. When buying Vinyl or on this example CDs, the packaging is part of the experience. So I feel it is reasonable to comment on the packaging. All too often new albums bought at a high price arrive in already bent cardboard with little by way of inserts. But this 'Box set' a very inexpensive way of buying this selection so I guess the quality of the packaging is may be to be expected?
