This review is from: Managing IT as a Strategic Resource (Information Technology) (Paperback)
This book considers a wide variety of topics including the role of the CIO/CEO, the assessment of IT value, the structure of IT functions, how to make IT sourcing decisions, dealing with emerging technologies.
The book will be of great use to MBA students and undergraduates. The book is provides many well written and complementary research papers. IT managers may also find it of use as there are many challenging topics "Is your CIO adding value?" being a case in point. However, the book primarily provides an academic framework for assessing issues, rather than practical methods for managing IT as a strategic resource.
