London Elektricity Fail To Deliver,
This review is from: Pull The Plug (Audio CD)
Very dissapointed with this album. I totally disagree with the other reviewers who have rated this anything above a 2. I have 'Billion Dollar Gravy' and all the Plastic Surgery Compilations. These show London Elextricity as I have come to know them, flying the flag for Hospital Records with cool liquid funk. 'Pull The Plug' is a pale reflection of any London Elektricity material since 2000 really. The collection of tunes are from the period 1996-1999 and perhaps this was an experimental period for London Elektricity, where they were just trying to find their feet and their own style. Only a couple of the tunes have been written By Chris Goss and Tony Colman (now the sole member of London Elektricity). The tunes do not really go in any direction and have a distinct lack of any meaningful beats. 'Superstructure' (from a later Plastic Surgery Comilation) appears on this album. I can certainly see why John B had to remix this. It is a very ordinary track with a very placid beat. The whole album follows this format really. In short do not buy it, you will be dissapointed if you are looking for anything close to 'Billion Dollar Gravy'!

Stewart Henderson says:
Have to agree with this review, have only skimmed through the album but it sounds terrible. The songs are disjointed, meaningless and seem to go nowhere. They appear to be nothing more than a collection of mismatched and often random sounds, far from the liquid, smooth, flowing sound i'm sure we're all used to. They fail to deliver on so many levels...
