Looks vs Use,
This review is from: Freeloader Solar Charger Silver (Sports)
It looks wonderful. It is a well provided for little unit. It is portable.
It is not much use.
I have had two. The first was faulty from new but bad batches are always something you can expect.
In bright sun (very bright) you will never get a full charge over a day. I do not know where the instructions are written. Another planet closer to the sun, maybe.
The panels are too small (low current mA) to deliver the said full charge.
Via USB you get a decent charge and it acts as a great HUB- you do get every connector you could ever want (apart from some of the Sagem phones)
After some time, the connection (the panels detach - they do not fold) between the panels and the body become a tad iffy. Sometimes the lights won't light up to verify power without a good wiggle.
Basically... the idea is wonderful and hats off to that. The design is lovely. The unit could just do with larger panels that fold over on the unit.
I paid £30 for mine. There are new ones out that have decent-sized panels on with good current outputs. They just look as cool as this little beast.
I still use mine but only when it charges.
