Waiting for the cam to fail again on the RBC430SES,
This review is from: Ryobi RBC-430SES Brushcutter Petrol 30cc 4 Stroke D Handle
I confirm 'The Truths' observations.
When my plastic cam failed, I was fortunate enough to get a complete replacement from Ryobi.
Whilst the machine is powerful when running well, I find I am forever fiddling - the cord keeps breaking and the push through facility on the reel head does not cope well with the inevitably curved cord, screws keep falling off from the handle because the provided screwdriver for them is inadequate and so on.
When I came to install the brushcutter blade for the first time, I was faced with an hour long research project - I downloaded the manual (in about 30 languages), the only clue in it to the procedure was the numbered rundown of parts which referred to a missing diagram - a version of the diagram which came with the machine was numbered differently. The partly hexagonal, left hand threaded component has to be removed by inserting a small rod through the a slot in the rotating head into a drilling to lock it whilst unscrewing it with the supplied wrench.
I am just waiting for the cam to fail again so I can justify buying a Stihl!
