A brief summary to the book.,
This review is from: Stuart Britain: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions) (Paperback)
Morrill's book s about Stuart Britain, it investigates different sections and aspects of Stuart life such as society and economic life, government and law, the civil war etc. Each section is generally introduced with sub sections. It covers main areas of this time in history briefly. Perhaps at times a little to brief.
Morrill looks at some issues in great detail and see these perhaps more important than others in this time period. An example of this is the issue of the birth rate declining is a subject that the author talks about many times in this book; he obviously sees this as one of the most important factor of this time period.
I felt that Morrill presented his work in a very clear and logical way. His arguments were well linked and had convincing supporting evidence. Although this book was only an Introduction of Stuart Britain I felt that, that was all it was. Many of the subjects discussed were general and only briefly summarised.
