This review is from: Motorola Milestone Smartphone with Android 2.0 (Wireless Phone Accessory)
As with everything regarding phones, you can't please everyone, but you can get pretty close.
I've been using the phone for a few weeks now and overall, I'm pretty impressed with it. It runs Android 2.0 and there are literally hundreds of useful apps. On the downside, it doesn't support Flash, which really is a crying shame but word is the next version of Android will.
Load times are fast due to its powerful processor and 3G capability. I love the haptic response feature where the button vibrates to let you know you've made a good contact with whatever you're trying to access.
Battery life is questionable when using the phone to the max and if you're on the Net every five minutes, you'll be plugging into the charger every few hours too. A spare battery is essential in my opinion.
The phone looks fantastic in glossy piano black and also feels robust, probably due to weighing in at a hefty 175 grammes. Although the Apple is a triumph of style, I actually find this phone more visually appealing as a statement of pure hardcore functionality. The slide out qwerty clicks nicely reassuringly into place and is one of the reasons I went for this model over touchscreen only. The keys are pretty tightly packed but it's no problem getting used to them.
Overall, it's like a little computer in your pocket, and if like me, you need to keep tabs on all that internet stuff throughout the day, this excellent phone should keep you quite happy. Also, take a look at some youtube vids of "Milestone vs Apple" and you'll see just how comparable it is for quite a lot less money.
If the battery and Flash issues were absent, I'd have had no problem dishing out 5 stars, but they aren't, so it's a worthy 4 nonetheless. Well done Motorola, good effort.
