Thank You 2K,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: XCOM Enemy Unknown (PS3) (Video Game)
Firstly I will admit I was a little sceptical about Xcom being remade, especially with 2K's track record of games that offer a lot and deliver nothing (See Mafia 2) This new version of Xcom is by far a work of genius. Having read all the reviews and waited rather impatiently for the PS3 demo to be released I found myself wondering is this going to work like the original? And by the gods has it worked? Yes it has...
The game is staggering, I can't fault it and really wish I could find a better explaination to why... The actual tactical game is mind-blowing, forget to manage or mismanage your base and you know about it real quick; especially if someone leaves the council, same goes with the actual fighting bit; get that wrong and your looking at a whole world of hurt. The AI on any of the difficulty levels is cunning and can turn what looks like a simple sweep and clear mission for you into a very messy meatgrinder with a lot of your men and women getting killed.
So I would like to say a huge thank you to 2k and Firaxis for spending millions of dollars developing this game and getting it right, I hope consider following this up with a revamp of 'Terror from the Deep'

I heard rumours about this, not surprised really.. Most developers get ratty if someone even looks like they are trying to compete.
I'm still a bit wary of 2K especially after all the 'Damp Squibs' they have handled, Mafia 2 been one and the last Civilisation game being the other. Admittedly Xcom is going towards redeeming them.. But still a long road ahead... Still want to have a chat with the QA team at Bethesda who signed off on the 'unstable' Skyrim for the PS3...
