3.0 out of 5 stars Not for HTC Desire, 5 Oct 2010
By
Although from a big brand Belkin, this doesn't work with my HTC Desire in the car. Ok it works in so much the phone thinks its on usb charge and not AC Power even though the adapter can give 1A out. It must be something with the wiring. Basically on usb power having sat nav on it actually loses power even though its on charge.

I found the same. It doesn't seem to have quite enough juice to charge the phone and run Google Navigation at the same time. It does extend the battery life a lot (I got over six hours non stop use) but you'd still want to carry around a proper charger.

Why didn't I see this post before I purchased. I have found the exact same thing. I have the Desire Z and when I use Google Nav the power goes down slowly.

I found the same, it can be fixed if you know how to solder. Just need to take it apart and solder the two data pins together(they arent actually used by the device as only power is transfered between it and your phone), this will let the android know its not a computer and so will be allow the full 1A to be recieved and will help your charging times
