Morbid Angel- Domination,
This review is from: Domination (Audio CD)
Out of all of Morbid Angels albums up to this one, this can be put down as the catchiest one of them all. Following after Covenants footsteps with new member Erik Rutan (formerly of Ripping Corpse), a new dimension is added with the catchy riffing, and neat technical skill of the 2 guitarists. Add to that one of Trey's best solos in 'Where The Slime LIve', and excellent songs like 'Dominate', 'Where The Slime Live', and 'Hatework', Morbid Angel show no signs of slowing down, or losing their edge.
The songs are agin different to anything before, but still unmistakable as Morbid Angel. The drumming of Pete Sandoval just keeps getting better!
This was the last album before the departure of vocalist and bass player David Vincent, of whom's idea it was to make the riffing a bit more catchy. On this, it worked really well, but it is quite lucky that subsequent releases have not followed in this theme too strongly.
